It all started Oct 2010….. In remembrance of my best friend that took his own life. I simply wanted a memorial tattoo. After a lot of thought… thinking past things like live to ride and ride to live, being him and I grew up riding dirt bikes and street bikes along with finding countless fun times having a few coldies. It came to me like that little light bulb over your head. TWISTN THROTTLES & TIPPN BOTTLES.
I knew this catch phrase was simple enough yet bold enough to get everyone's attention. This was my best friend that was no longer here I wanted to make sure he was still alive in spirit. So for his celebration of life party, I took it upon myself to have a few shirts made at the local flea market. In memory shirts that were originally for a select bunch of people to show their love and support.
As time moved on TWISTN THROTTLES & TIPPN BOTTLES evolved into more than an in memory saying for just my one best friend. I had lost another best friend in 2012, my father. He was the man that bought me my first dirt bike as well as my first beer! I can remember weekends growing up with him and his friends riding and enjoying life. I couldnt help to think this is becoming an all around in memory phrase. So once again for his celebration of life party…. I had a few shirts made dedicated to him. The shirts once again got a lot of attention. I didnt think much of it at the time I was 22 and with in 2 years lost 2 very important people in my life.
Time didnt stop days kept passing, but I held my phrase close to my heart. Writing TWISTN THROTTLES TIPPN BOTTLES on every place I saw fit. It stuck with me and all of my friends. It was something people knew around town. We werent letting the ones lost be forgotten! So we ride, have fun, reminisce, and pour out a little for the ones that couldnt be there physically to do so.
But what really got me to push my brand was losing my mother Nov, 2018. She was hardcore to say the least. Her sportster 1200 was her daily driver the last 3 years of her life. And she always had my back and loved what TWISTN THROTTLES TIPPN BOTTLES stood for. Which is riding free and remembering the good times. So rather than making a few shirts for a few people. I want everyone to see this brand as something that represents the ones we have loved and lost. The ones we can only hope are the Guardian Angels we would expect them to be! So the last touch which reads on the back of the shirts and hoodies is dedicated to another bestfriend, my mother.
